Wild Women Welly Walk Adventures
I know it sounds a bit crazy, but I've been asked SO many times; "What's a welly walk," and "Why Welly Walk?"
First is pretty simple, you put on wellies (and head torch if it's a night walk), and you walk! It doesn't even necessarily have to be in wellies; boots or pretty much any kind of footwear goes, just as long as you don't mind getting them wet or muddy! It isn't a guided walk, it's a social walk. We walk, talk, splash in puddles, gaze at the stars, laugh, sing and generally enjoy fresh air and great company.
Welly walks provide a great opportunity for a gentle introduction to the group. Not everyone find's it easy going to meet strangers, especially if they are on their own and going to do something they've never done before. There are definitely some of us who would happily throw ourselves in the deep end, others have told me it feels easier to turn up for a short walk first, either in the day or in the dark, before committing to something a bit more adventurous.
Welly walks are usually an hour to an hour an a half max. What a great introduction into the fun, crazy, exciting wild woman world. Don't take my word for it, grab your wellies and join us in the mud!
