A Year in the Life of a Wild Woman

Wild Women Adventures first birthday will be on International Women's Day March 8th 2020 😃 and 'WOW' what a year it has been! Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined just how much could be squeezed into one year!

The wild woman group started from humble beginnings - just 8 members, it has grown by the hundreds! The adventures have come in many different shapes and sizes, and have shot off in all different directions. I have been privileged to meet so many inspiring and wonderful wild women with amazing stories to tell. I've listened to stories full of strength, resilience, courage. I've laughed, I've cried, I've been lost and found. The opportunities for adventure have grown with the group; through encouraging other women to share their skills, expertise and knowledge, the Wild Women Adventure group has grown wings and is flying.

Our 2019 adventures involved everything, from our very first glamping experience to real wild camping experiences, white water rafting, via feratta, sports climbing in the Spanish sunshine to climbing Blencathra mountain in the stunning Lake District. We've had bunkhouse nights jam pack full of games and laughter, a zip coaster ride; tried coasteering, Nordic walking, skinny dipping, been dragon boat racing - twice! We've cooked a three course Christmas dinner over a bonfire in the woods, sang carols and went for a dip in the sea on Boxing day. There have been hundreds of women join the group, from all over the world! We started night and day time welly walks, which have also been organised by group members in Yorkshire and in Wales.

2020 has already seen us Wheel Barrow Racing on New Years Day, enjoying blustery walks up Roseberry Topping, a 'Go Scottish' Burns night bunkhouse adventure following  Wild Women Naked Photoshoot Number One! beside the very beautiful Kielder lake, a waterfall walk, a live murder trial experience, 80's dancing and twice weekly day and evening welly walks in some weird and wonderful mud filled locations.

There are already many exciting adventures planned for the coming months. Four more mountain days in the lakes and a rock climbing camp, treks up the highest mountains in North Africa and in Spain, canoeing and wild camping on the River Tweed and River Spey, more dragon boat racing, more white water rafting and tubing, more camps, more bunkhouses, more naked calendar shoots with proceeds going to 12 local charities and a skydive!! As well as the adventure there are writing, poetry, yoga, navigation and other workshops,  with  a book, an exhibition and a Canadian Adventure already planned for 2021!

I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me, believed in me or trusted me to keep them alive! 😂 also HUGE thank yous to everyone who have given their time, energy, advice, joined the page, joined the group, organised activities, organised events, attended adventures or watched from the sidelines. I couldn't have done any of it without the amazing people I have in my life and the all the wonderful wild women I have met along the way!

Here's to another year jammed pack full of joy, laughter, fun, excitement and adventure!!!!
